Over the course of the week, he and Shiki visit a local restaurant, where they meet Luria, an employee, and her sister Eva, a librarian at the academy. This scene also introduces a subplot involving Ilumgand, a student who clearly despises Makoto’s growing presence.

On the day of Makoto’s first lecture, ten students sent by their peer Bright display a mix of skepticism and curiosity toward Makoto’s teaching methods, especially since he relies on written communication and Shiki’s assistance. To dispel their doubts and showcase his impressive abilities, Makoto engages in a mock battle with Shiki, demonstrating a series of silent and incantation-less spells that both awe and intimidate the students.

These students, each with their own backgrounds and skills, are pushed to their limits by Makoto and experience the toughest battles of their lives. Through these grueling exercises, they begin to unlock their potential.

Meanwhile, the episode also hints at a looming threat from Bright, a fellow instructor with malicious intentions toward Makoto, and unveils a darker subplot.
