Description
Makoto Misumi, an ordinary high school student, is unexpectedly transported to a fantasy world after his parents make a contract with the goddess Tsukuyomi. However, upon arrival, the goddess deems him unattractive and unworthy of being a hero, stripping him of his heroic status and banishing him to the wastelands at the edge of the world. Despite this rejection, Makoto retains his exceptional physical abilities and magical potential, which far exceed those of ordinary humans in this new world.
In the wastelands, Makoto encounters various demi-human and monster races, including dragons, spiders, and orcs, who initially view him with suspicion. Over time, he earns their trust and forms alliances, becoming a respected figure among them. His unique ability to understand and communicate with these beings sets him apart from other humans in the world. Makoto also discovers that his connection to the moon grants him immense magical power, further enhancing his capabilities.
As Makoto navigates this new world, he establishes a settlement called Asora, a sanctuary for the marginalized races he befriends. He takes on the role of a protector and leader, striving to create a peaceful coexistence between humans and non-humans. Along the way, he encounters other key characters, such as Tomoe and Mio, two powerful beings who become his loyal companions. Tomoe, a dragon who takes on a human form, serves as his advisor and confidante, while Mio, a spider-like entity, becomes his devoted follower. Both possess immense strength and aid Makoto in his endeavors.
The narrative explores Makoto’s efforts to challenge the prejudices and injustices perpetuated by the goddess and the human-centric society of the fantasy world. His journey is marked by battles against powerful adversaries, political intrigue, and the gradual unraveling of the world’s deeper mysteries. The series balances action, humor, and world-building, presenting a protagonist who defies traditional hero tropes while striving to carve out his own path in a world that initially rejects him.
