Description
Mio, originally known as the Black Spider of Calamity, is a unique and ancient entity in the world of Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-. Long before she assumed a human form, she was an enormous spider-like monster driven by an insatiable, never-ending hunger. This hunger compelled her to consume everything in her path, including people, monsters, and magical artifacts. Her rampage lasted for centuries, leaving her without sanity or a clear sense of self. She is hinted to be an existence that predates the current divine management of the world, possibly having fallen through a rift between dimensions.
Mio’s background changes dramatically when she encounters the protagonist, Makoto Misumi. After a battle, Makoto feeds her his overwhelming mana, which finally satiates her hunger and restores her mind. As a result, she forms a master-servant contract with him. The contract forces her to take on a human appearance that reflects Makoto’s own race, and he names her Mio. This transformation marks the beginning of her development from a mindless predator into a devoted and intelligent companion.
