During the "Sneaker Bunko 35th Anniversary Festa!" event, new information about the anime adaptation of the light novel series "Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian" by Sunsunsun and artist Momoco was revealed. A teaser image, the names of the main cast, and additional cast members were unveiled during the live-streamed event.
Director Ryota Itoh, known for his work on "My Senpai Is Annoying" and "Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie," will helm the project at Doga Kobo. Ryota Itoh is also responsible for the series' scripts. Yūhei Murota is in charge of character design and serves as the chief animation director. Ryō Kobayashi was announced as the series producer.
During the event, several new cast members were introduced, joining the previously announced main roles. Wakana Maruoka will voice Yuki Suō, Yukiyo Fujii will portray Mariya, and Saya Aizawa has been cast as Ayano Kimishima. Sumire Uesaka and Kōhei Amasaki will reprise their roles as Alisa Mihairovuna Kujō and Masachika Kuse, respectively, reviving their roles from an earlier drama CD.
The story revolves around Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou, a half-Russian student at Seiren Private Academy. Known as the "solitary princess," she excels academically but appears distant and unapproachable. Her classmate, Masachika Kuze, is an unremarkable student who teases her. However, it's clear that Alisa's frustration isn't what it seems on the surface. She lets Masachika call her "Alya" and often mutters comments in Russian, believing no one can understand her. What she doesn't know is that Masachika overhears and understands her, raising questions about their true relationship.
