Description
Thierry Ragueneau is a French actor and voice artist born on May 1, 1960, in Troyes, France. He trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre (ENSATT) and began his performance career on stage in 1979. His body of work encompasses theatre, film, television, and music, but he is prominently known for his extensive contributions to dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous actors and animated characters.

Ragueneau's entry into the dubbing profession occurred in the 1980s. His work in animation includes a variety of roles in both Western and Japanese productions. He is the French voice of Tatsuo Kusakabe in the Studio Ghibli film My Neighbor Totoro and provided the voice for the character in the first French dub of The Little Mermaid. Other notable animation credits include roles in Ratatouille, the Mulan films, and Asterix and the Surprise of Caesar.

Regarding Japanese animation, Ragueneau voiced the character Lancelot du Lac in the French television adaptation of the series Entaku no Kishi Monogatari: Moero Arthur, which was broadcast in France starting in 1987. He also reprised this role for its second season, Moero Arthur: Hakuba no Oji. While a role in the film Venus Wars is sometimes associated with him, information regarding a direct confirmation of him voicing Hiro Seno in a French dub of that production is not consistently detailed in standard career records.

Beyond animation, Ragueneau has built a prolific career as a voice actor for live-action. He is the regular French voice of actors such as Simon Baker and Keanu Reeves, and has dubbed Billy Zane and Sam Rockwell, among others. In French television, he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of François Marci in the long-running series Plus belle la vie from 2004 to 2006. His career also includes stage work, having written and performed in theatrical productions, and he has released an album as a singer-songwriter.
