Satoru Akahori is a Japanese scriptwriter, novelist, and manga author born on March 8, 1965, in Handa, Aichi Prefecture. He began his career after studying under the scriptwriter Takao Koyama, making his debut as a writer in 1988. The following year, he started his career as a novelist with a novelization of the anime series Legend of Heavenly Sphere Shurato. Throughout his career, Akahori has often used the hiragana pen name あかほりさとる for his creative work as an original creator, while using his real name, 赤堀悟, for other roles such as a producer.

As an original creator and writer, Akahori has been the creative force behind numerous anime and manga series, many of which became prominent in the 1990s. Among the examples provided, he is credited as the original creator and series composition writer for Akahori Gedō Hour Rabuge, a series whose very title incorporates his nickname. He held similar roles as series composition writer and original creator for Bakuen Campus Guardress. For Gekijōban Rokumon Tengai Mon Colle Knight: Densetsu no Fire Dragon, he contributed as a scriptwriter and original creator, roles he also fulfilled for the broader Mon Colle Knights franchise.
