Nachi Nozawa, whose real name was Yasutomo Nozawa, was a Japanese actor, voice actor, narrator, and theatre director born in Tokyo on January 13, 1938. He was affiliated with the talent agency Office PAC at the time of his death on October 30, 2010, from lung cancer at the age of 72. His passing was followed by a posthumous honor, a Special Merit Award at the 5th Seiyu Awards in 2011.

Nozawa's career was extensive and multifaceted, spanning several decades. He was highly active in the dubbing of foreign films and television series, where he became the official Japanese voice for prominent Western actors such as Al Pacino and Alain Delon. He was also well-known for dubbing the voices of Bruce Willis, Robert Redford, and for providing the Japanese voice of C-3PO in the original Star Wars trilogy. In addition to his voice work, he was a theatre director and served as the producer for the Gekidan Baraza theatre company.

In the realm of anime, Nozawa left a significant mark with a variety of iconic roles. One of his earliest and most notable parts was as Arsène Lupin III in the 1969 Lupin III: Pilot Film, a foundational work for the long-running franchise. He is also celebrated for voicing the titular character in Space Adventure Cobra, Hyakkimaru in Dororo, and Father Alexander Anderson in Hellsing. His other major anime roles include Jin Munakata in Aim for the Ace!, Hans Axel von Fersen in The Rose of Versailles, Black Jack in the 1980 Astro Boy series, Masumi Hayami in Glass Mask, and Oni-Ou / Kazuma Shingūji in the Sakura Wars series. He also contributed his voice to video games, notably as Professor Hojo in the Final Fantasy VII series and as Vexen in the Kingdom Hearts series.
