Born Carmen González de Lovera in Havana, Cuba, on September 18, 1932, she began her career in radio broadcasting in 1950 before emigrating to Venezuela in 1953, where she would spend most of her professional life. Her career encompassed radio dramas, television acting, and stage performance, with her debut in Venezuelan television occurring in the successful telenovela Raquel in 1973.
