Stephanie Panisello

Description
Stephanie Panisello is an American actress, voice actress, and performance capture artist known for her work in video games and animation. Born on September 30, 1987, in New York, she was raised in a bilingual household of Colombian and Spanish descent and is a first-generation American. She graduated from Florida State University and the University of Central Florida, where she studied Radio and Television.

Panisello began her career with on-camera work, appearing in television series such as Vegas and Hart of Dixie in the early 2010s. She also gained experience behind the scenes, working as a voice-over session and sound assistant on numerous high-profile video games, including BioShock Infinite, several Final Fantasy titles, the Hitman series, Gears of War 4, and Mighty No. 9. Early in her career, she provided facial capture for characters in games like Doom and The Evil Within 2, and performed motion capture for Lara Croft in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Her breakthrough role came in 2019 when she was cast as Claire Redfield in the critically acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 2. For this role, she provided both the voice and full performance capture, bringing a new depth to the iconic character. She was asked by Capcom to make the character her own while preserving her essence, and she contributed to the development of key scenes, including Claire's memorable confrontation with Chief Irons. This performance established her as the modern voice for Claire Redfield in English-language productions. She reprised the role in the 2021 Netflix CGI anime series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and the 2023 animated film Resident Evil: Death Island. Her work on these projects solidifies her connection to the anime-style adaptations of the Resident Evil franchise.

Beyond Resident Evil, Panisello has built an extensive portfolio in animation and video games. She voiced the character Vaylin in Star Wars: The Old Republic and Betty Ross in the Marvel animated series What If...?. In the world of Japanese role-playing games and anime-style titles, she has lent her voice to popular franchises such as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the mobile hit Genshin Impact, where she plays the adeptus god Cloud Retainer. Her other notable roles include characters in Trials of Mana and Paladins. Her fluency in Spanish has also been a facet of her professional background.

In addition to her performance work, Panisello has experience as a performance director for video games. She is also an active presence on streaming platforms like Twitch, where she engages with the gaming community under the name "Because I Claire," a phrase derived from her character's motto. She uses this platform to foster an inclusive environment and discuss topics like empowerment and mental health.
