Mana Ogawa
Description
Mana Ogawa is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer born on July 2, 1993, in Saitama Prefecture. She began her career in entertainment as a child, starting as a model in her first grade before moving into acting. Her early voice acting work includes a role in the 2006 anime series Sasami: Magical Girls Club, where she voiced the main character, Sasami Iwakura, a role she reprised for the second season. Following this, she provided the voice for Hitsugi Nikaidō in the 2008 series Hyakko.
Ogawa is perhaps best known for her leading role as Mimi Kitagami in the anime adaptation of the shōjo manga Gokujō!! Mecha Mote Iinchō, which began airing in 2009. She voiced the character in the first series and its sequel, Gokujō!! Mecha Mote Iinchō Second Collection. Her work on this series was closely tied to her music career, as she performed the opening and ending theme songs for the anime as part of the unit MM Gakuen Gasshōbu, releasing multiple character singles and albums under the name Mimi Kitagami (CV Mana Ogawa) with MM Gakuen Gasshōbu.
Beyond voice acting, Ogawa is also a singer. Her solo debut single, Suppin' Rock, was released in 2008, followed by her debut album, 1 Teenage Blues, in 2010, which charted on the Oricon album charts. She was a member of the girl group Canary Club from 2007 until its hiatus in 2012, and was also a soloist under the NICE GIRL Project! label. In addition to her work in anime and music, Ogawa has appeared in television dramas such as Niji no Kanata and Last Friend, and has performed on stage, with roles including Tsukasa Hiiragi in Lucky Star ≈ On Stage in 2012. More recently, she was cast as ceramics club adviser Mami Koizumi in the 2021 anime series Let's Make a Mug Too. She continues to be active in the entertainment industry, releasing an EP titled Moment in 2020.
