Misato Kawauchi
Description
Misato Kawauchi is a Japanese actress, singer-songwriter, and voice actress born on October 11, 1997, in Chiba Prefecture. She began her entertainment career in her early teens, starting as an advertising model during middle school. In 2014, she expanded into acting and debuted as a singer-songwriter. Her career initially flourished on stage, with leading roles in major productions such as the stage adaptations of Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 6, Yagate Kimi ni Naru, and PSYCHO-PASS. She has also appeared in live-action television series, including roles in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid and Ultraman Taiga. In July 2020, she transitioned from her previous agency, Oscar Promotion, to the talent agency Omnia.
Kawauchi's career as a voice actor began in 2021. Her debut and most prominent anime role to date is as the voice of Moe Kamiji, the Pro Hero known as Burnin, in the long-running anime series My Hero Academia. She first voiced the character in the fifth season of the anime, which aired in 2021. She has since reprised the role in subsequent seasons of the television series, as well as in the animated film My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes' Mission, which was also released in 2021. Her performance as Burnin marks her primary and defining work in anime voice acting.
Given that her voice acting career is relatively recent and centered on a single major franchise, there are no documented recurring collaborations with specific directors or other voice actors at this time. Her professional achievements are extensive in her stage and music careers, including winning the Miss iD 2014 Sabu Uuki Award in 2013. In her voice acting role, she was cast in a prominent new character for a major series, bringing the character of Burnin to life from her anime debut. In late 2021, Kawauchi took a temporary hiatus from her entertainment activities due to health concerns but announced her return to work in January 2022.
