Aimi Terakawa

Description
Aimi Terakawa, known professionally by the mononym Aimi, is a Japanese voice actor and singer born on December 25, 1991, in Hyogo Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Hibiki and, since 2020, has been signed to the King Records label for her solo music career.

Her career in entertainment began after she won second place in a national audition for the Tantei Opera Milky Holmes franchise in 2010. This led to her voice acting debut as Kazumi Tokiwa in that series and her subsequent membership in the music unit Feathers with fellow voice actor Ayasa Ito. For a period, she used her full birth name, Terakawa Aimi, before standardizing her stage name to simply Aimi in December 2013. Her initial aspiration was to be a singer, but she became interested in voice acting after being impressed by how the anime Macross Frontier combined music and storytelling.

Aimi's career is closely associated with Bushiroad, as her agency is a subsidiary of the company, leading to major roles in several of its multimedia franchises. Her most prominent and defining role is as Kasumi Toyama, the protagonist of the BanG Dream! franchise, a part she has played since 2015. In this project, she not only voices the character but also performs live as the vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the in-universe band Poppin'Party. This role was particularly significant, as her live guitar performance in another franchise reportedly inspired the concept for BanG Dream! itself. Another key role in a Bushiroad franchise is as Kyoko Yamate in the D4DJ multimedia project. Her association with the Cardfight!! Vanguard series is also long-standing, where she has voiced multiple characters over the years, including Suiko Tatsunagi.

Beyond these major franchises, Aimi has built an extensive portfolio of voice roles across anime, games, and other media. She is known for her role as Julia in The Idolmaster: Million Live!. Other notable anime roles include Emanuella Porlallora in The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat., Sherry in Plastic Memories, Nanako Kogure in Remake Our Life!, Misha Jur in I'm in Love with the Villainess, and Serval Landau in Honkai: Star Rail. She also provided a voice for the 2022 hit film Suzume.

Alongside her voice acting, Aimi has maintained an active career as a solo singer. She released her first single, "Tenshi no Clover," in 2011, which was used as an opening theme for the anime Astarotte no Omocha!. She has since released multiple singles and albums, with many of her songs serving as theme music for anime series such as Ben-To, The Ambition of Oda Nobuna, and Magical Destroyers. After moving to King Records in 2020, she continued to release new music. In 2022, she took a two-month hiatus from some activities to receive treatment for a chronic illness, returning to work in May of that year.
