Carolina Villanueva

Description
Carolina Villanueva is a Chilean voice actress known for her work in Latin Spanish dubbing for anime and animated films. She is recognized for providing the Spanish voice for lead characters in major animated productions. She voiced the character Professor Ursula in the Latin Spanish dub of the 2013 anime film Little Witch Academia, produced by Studio Trigger. This film was the original short that preceded the larger franchise. She later reprised the role of Professor Ursula for the 2015 sequel film, Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade. In these films, her portrayal of the character was distinct as the Latin American dub uniquely used separate actresses for Ursula and her alter ego, Shiny Chariot, with Doris Cuevas voicing the latter in the first film. A subsequent major role came with the 2021 Studio Chizu film Belle, directed by Mamoru Hosoda. Villanueva voiced the protagonist, Suzu Naito, and her virtual singing avatar, Belle, in the Latin Spanish dub. This dubbing was performed in Chile by Film Dub Factory under the direction of Cristina Littin. The film was a critical and commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing film of Hosoda's career.
