Earl Baylon is an American actor recognized for his work in voice-over for animated series and video games, particularly within the anime and action-adventure genres. Born in East Hollywood and raised in Long Beach, California, he is of Filipino descent. Before pursuing acting professionally, Baylon was a biological sciences major on a pre-med track in college. His involvement in improvisational comedy, including a sketch comedy group, ultimately led him to change his career path, and he eventually gained representation from an agent who saw him perform.
Baylon's career as a voice actor achieved a significant breakthrough with his casting as Jonah Maiava in the 2013 video game Tomb Raider. He reprised this role in its sequels, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, providing both voice and motion capture performance for Lara Croft's close friend. This character became a central part of his career, and he later returned to the role for the Netflix anime series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which continued the story of the video game trilogy.
