Kentarō Maeda is a Japanese actor who gained prominence for his debut role as the protagonist in the 2021 tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Revice. He plays the character Ikki Igarashi, the eldest son of the Igarashi family who transforms into Kamen Rider Revi to fight the demonic Deadmans organization alongside his partner, the devil Vice. Maeda was cast in the role through a competitive audition process, marking his first lead role in a television series and his entry into the entertainment industry. His casting was part of the celebration of the Kamen Rider franchise's 50th anniversary. As a newcomer, he has described feeling both pressure and honor at being chosen for such a significant milestone in the long-running series, noting that he had dreamed of becoming a hero since childhood. In the series, he works closely with voice actor Subaru Kimura, who voices his on-screen partner Vice, and the two have developed a close working relationship which they describe as being best partners. The role requires Maeda to perform both the dramatic scenes as the human character Ikki as well as the physical performance for the superhero transformation sequences. Beyond his work in the live-action Kamen Rider franchise, Maeda has extended his portrayal of Ikki Igarashi to related animated projects within the franchise, including the anime special Yudatte Saikо̄!
