Kei Minegishi
Description
Kei Minegishi is a former Japanese voice actor from Nara Prefecture, born on July 15. He was active in the industry from the early 2010s until his retirement in 2023. His path to becoming a voice actor was unconventional; he decided to pursue the career during his third year of university and subsequently left his studies to enroll in the training school of the talent agency Atomic Monkey. As a member of Atomic Monkey's third generation of trainees, he began his voice acting career in the early 2010s, with his first credited roles appearing in OVA and video game projects.
Minegishi is known for a variety of roles across anime, video games, and drama CDs. A significant milestone in his career was being cast as the twin characters Theo Yushila and Xao Yushila in the 2016 television anime Macross Delta, which marked his first regular role in a TV series and brought him wider recognition. He also provided the voice for Toya Honoki in the I★CHU multimedia franchise, which includes a video game and an anime adaptation. Other notable anime appearances include roles in OZMAFIA!!, 12-sai: Chicchana Mune no Tokimeki, and supporting parts in major franchises such as Sword Art Online: Alicization and My Hero Academia. His film credits include roles in the Macross Delta films, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, and the Looking for Magical Doremi film.
In addition to his anime work, Minegishi was active in video game voice acting. He voiced Tadaomi Kurama in Argonavis from BanG Dream! and contributed to games like Grand Summoners, Sengoku X, and Beyblade Burst. His voice was described as energetic with a gentle and unique youthful quality. In October 2023, it was officially announced that Kei Minegishi had retired from the voice acting profession. Due to his retirement, his role as Tadaomi Kurama in the from ARGONAVIS project was subsequently recast to Haruki Ishiya.
