Michael Prelle is a German actor and voice artist, born in Hamburg in 1951. He began his career on the stage, training at the University of Music and Theatre in his hometown from 1970 to 1973. His theatrical work has been extensive, with engagements at renowned venues including the Thalia Theater and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and the Schauspiel Bonn, where he was a company member for seventeen years. He later performed at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and, since 2006, has been a member of the ensemble at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus again. His stage work has been recognized with nominations for Schauspieler des Jahres by Theater heute magazine and the awarding of the Hersfeld-Preis in 1994.

In addition to his stage work, Prelle has built a substantial career in front of the camera and as a voice actor. His on-screen appearances include roles in numerous German television series, such as Tatort, Großstadtrevier, Notruf Hafenkante, and a long-running part as Police President Plocher in the series Rentnercops from 2015 to 2024.

As a voice actor, Michael Prelle has lent his voice to a wide array of characters in international film and television productions dubbed into German. This facet of his career includes voicing actors like Frank Langella in Draft Day and André Dussollier in Mein fabelhaftes Verbrechen. His work in anime dubbing is a significant part of his voice acting portfolio. He is the German voice for the character Georg Carmine in the anime series How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom.
