Marimo Ragawa is a Japanese manga artist known for creating works that have been adapted into anime, including Those Snow White Notes. Born on September 21 in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, Ragawa began submitting manga to magazines at the age of twelve. After four years of submitting work to one publication without success, she switched to Hana to Yume, where her first submission won a prize. She made her professional debut in 1990 with the one-shot manga Time Limit, published in Hana to Yume issue No. 22.

Ragawa has created several long-running and notable manga series. Her first major work was Baby & Me, which serialized from 1991 to 1997. This family-oriented story earned her the Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōjo category in 1995 and was adapted into an anime in 1996. She has also written New York New York (1995–1998), the tennis-themed Shanimuni Go (1998–2009), and Itsudemo Otenki Kibun (1993–2014).

Ragawa is best known as the creator of Those Snow White Notes, also known as Mashiro no Oto. This manga was serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine from December 2009 to August 2022 and collected in 31 tankōbon volumes. The story follows Setsu Sawamura, a young tsugaru shamisen player who loses his ability to hear his own music after the death of his grandfather, and his journey to find his unique sound in Tokyo. In 2012, the series won the Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category and received an Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival.

An anime television adaptation of Those Snow White Notes was produced by Shin-Ei Animation and directed by Hiroaki Akagi. It aired for 12 episodes from April 3 to June 19, 2021, on the Animeism programming block on MBS and other networks. The anime featured music by the Yoshida Brothers and voice talent including Nobunaga Shimazaki as Setsu Sawamura.

Throughout her career, Ragawa has demonstrated versatility across multiple genres, including family drama, boys' love, sports, and music-focused narratives. Her work is noted for its ability to portray complex human emotions. Beyond commercial success, her contributions to manga have been recognized with major industry awards across different demographic categories, from shōjo to shōnen publications.
