Ashly Burch

Description
Ashly Burch is an American voice actress and writer, born on June 19, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona. Her path to voice acting began in her youth, inspired by playing the video game Metal Gear Solid at age twelve, which made her realize that acting was a career behind the characters she enjoyed. She later graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 2012. Burch first gained public attention through the web series "Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?" which she created with her brother, Anthony Burch. This online exposure helped lead to her first major voice role when her brother, then a writer for Borderlands 2, suggested she audition for the character Tiny Tina. Beyond acting, Burch has also worked as a writer, notably on the acclaimed animated series Adventure Time.

In the realm of anime, Burch is recognized for several prominent English dub roles. She is the voice of Sasha Braus in the popular series Attack on Titan, a role she reprised for the compilation films Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow, the sequel Attack on Titan: The Roar of Awakening, and the comedic spin-off Attack on Titan: Junior High. Another significant anime role is Mayuri Shiina in the science fiction series Steins;Gate. Burch voiced the character in the original Steins;Gate anime, the film Steins;Gate: The Movie − Load Region of Déjà Vu, and returned for the sequel series Steins;Gate 0, where she was credited in some instances under the name Jackie Ross. She also lent her voice to the character Jane in the 2020 anime series adaptation of the video game Ninjala.

While Burch's career is extensive across animation and video games, several of her anime roles are part of larger, recurring collaborations with English dubbing studios, particularly those involved in producing dubs for high-profile series like Attack on Titan and Steins;Gate. Her consistent work in these franchises demonstrates a strong working relationship with the industry's dubbing community.

Throughout her career, Burch has received notable recognition for her performances, though primarily for her work in video games. She won the Golden Joystick Award for Best Gaming Performance in 2015 for her role as Chloe Price in Life is Strange and again in 2017 for her portrayal of Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn. She has also received two BAFTA Games nominations for these roles. In addition to her acting accolades, her writing work on Adventure Time earned her an Emmy Award.
