Hitoshi Yanai is a Japanese voice actor born on October 27, 1974, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Ken Production. Outside of voice acting, he holds a certified cooking license and has training in stage combat.

Yanai began his voice acting career in 2006, with his first role in the television anime Kotencotenco. In 2007, he secured his first major role as Griffith Lowran in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS. Over the following years, he built a career characterized by a wide range of supporting characters in numerous popular anime series. His filmography includes roles in long-running and critically acclaimed shows such as Gintama, where he voiced various characters including a Shinsengumi member, a policeman, and an onmyoji.
