Ami Maeshima is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and former idol, born in Saitama Prefecture on November 22, 1997. She is widely recognized by her nickname, Amita. Her career in the entertainment industry began at a young age when she successfully passed the avex Idol Audition in 2010, becoming the youngest member of the Japanese idol group Super Girls. During her seven years with the group, she also took on solo work, including modeling for the magazine Pichi Lemon and appearing in television dramas. In 2016, she was appointed as the third leader of Super Girls, a position she held until her graduation from the group in March 2017 to focus on her voice acting career.

Maeshima's most prominent and defining role began the very next month after leaving Super Girls, when she debuted as the voice of Aya Maruyama in the BanG Dream! multimedia franchise. She voiced the character across numerous adaptations, including the anime series BanG Dream! 2nd Season and 3rd Season, the short-form series BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico and its sequels, Pastel Life, and the animated films BanG Dream! FILM LIVE and BanG Dream! FILM LIVE 2nd Stage. As the voice of Aya for the unit Pastel＊Palettes, she also performed as a singer for the group within the franchise.

Her other major recurring role was as Ibuki Niijima in the D4DJ multimedia project, which she voiced in the anime series D4DJ First Mix and its Petit Mix short-form series. A further notable performance was as the competitive and boastful Makeru Yadano in the anime adaptation of Komi Can't Communicate. Her other anime credits include the role of Nina Flip in BNA: Brand New Animal.

In late 2022, Maeshima was forced to take a hiatus from all entertainment activities due to health issues, which led to her stepping down from her roles in BanG Dream! and D4DJ at that time and terminating her contract with her long-time agency, Avex Inc.. After a period of rest and recovery, she announced her return to the industry in September 2023 and joined the voice acting agency Voice Kit. On the same day, it was also announced that she would be reinstated in her iconic role as Aya Maruyama in the BanG Dream! franchise. In 2024, she further expanded her musical career by debuting as a solo artist with the album "Determination" under the King Records label.
