Michio Nakao

Description
Michio Nakao is a Japanese voice actor born on August 11, 1964, in Osaka Prefecture. He began his career after graduating from the Aoni Juku Tokyo School, the training school for the talent management agency Aoni Production, which he joined in 1987. He was formerly affiliated with Aoni Production and is currently represented by Tsurugi Production. His name is also sometimes written using the same pronunciation as 中尾みち雄 or 中尾巌雄.

Nakao has built a extensive career spanning several decades, providing voices for a wide array of characters in anime, OVAs, video games, and foreign film dubs. His filmography demonstrates a versatility in role types, from background characters in major franchises to leads in independent works. Early in his career, he took on various roles in long-running series such as Dragon Ball Z, where he voiced a Saiyan soldier in the 1990 TV special The History of Trunks, and later appeared in One Piece and Sonic X.

Among his notable roles is the part of Ura in the 2005 OVA Pale Cocoon. Ura is a dedicated archivist in a future where Earth's history has been lost, working to restore old data and becoming fascinated by the world of the past. Nakao also voiced the character Kōji in the 2008 web anime and subsequent 2010 film compilation Time of Eve. The story is set in a near-future Japan where androids are common, and Kōji is a patron of a café that does not discriminate between humans and androids. He also played the role of Suzaku Kimonin, a warrior monk serving an antagonist within the Spiral Palace, in the series Shinken Densetsu Tight Road.

Other significant credits include the role of a school teacher in the 2005 theatrical film adaptation of the visual novel Air, Kohei Kuzumi in the 1994 OVA Grappler Baki, and various characters in series like the 1994 television anime Marmalade Boy. He also voiced Yuriko's father in the 2007 science fiction series Dennō Coil.

Nakao has a recurring professional relationship with director Yasuhiro Yoshiura. In addition to Pale Cocoon and Time of Eve, he also voiced a character in Yoshiura's 2006 short film Pale Cocoon, which is an earlier version of the story also known as Pale Cocoon. This collaboration highlights his involvement in thoughtful, independent science fiction projects.
