Chinatsu Nakayama is a Japanese voice actress and writer, born in 1948. Her career in animation includes several prominent voice roles during the late 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. One of her most recognized performances is as the title character, Chie Takemoto, in the franchise Jarinko Chie, also known as Chie the Brat. She voiced the character in both the 1981 television series and the 1981 theatrical film directed by Isao Takahata. She later reprised the role for the 1991 series, Chie-chan Funsenki Jarinko Chie.

Nakayama also contributed her voice to notable animated films produced during this period. She voiced the title role in the 1970 animated film Cleopatra, directed by Osamu Tezuka and Eiichi Yamamoto. In addition to voicing the character, she also wrote the lyrics for the film's theme song, "Cleopatra's Theme". Her other film credits include a role in the 1973 animated feature Kanashimi no Belladonna (titled Belladonna of Sadness in English). Her early voice work also includes the 1967 television series Hyokkori Hyōtan-jima, in which she played the character Hiroshi. Her collaborations in these projects brought her into contact with major directors of the era, including Takahata and Tezuka.
