He has lent his voice to hundreds of roles across various media, demonstrating a long-standing and prolific career in the German voice acting industry.

Werner is well-known within the anime community for providing the German dubbing voices for iconic characters in classic and contemporary series. His filmography includes the role of Ryu in the German dub of the 1994 film Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. He also voiced Ken in the movie adaptation of Fist of the North Star. In the original video animation Battle Angel, based on the manga by Yukito Kishiro, Werner took on the role of Daisuke Ido, the cyberphysician who discovers and rebuilds the cyborg protagonist Gally. His work extends to the Space Battleship Yamato franchise, where he voiced the character Vance Bahren in both the Star Blazers 2199 television series and the film Uchū Senkan Yamato 2199: Hoshi-Meguru Hakobune.
