Ichirota Koizumi is the former stage name of Takatsugu Awazu, a Japanese voice actor born on April 18 in Hyogo Prefecture. He is also known by the name Takatsugu Awazu. He was formerly affiliated with the talent management firm Production Baobab. It was announced at the end of August 2023 that he had retired from voice acting.
His career included a wide range of supporting and guest roles in numerous anime television series and films, as well as voice work in video games. One of his notable early film roles was as the character Chito in the 2002 movie Aterui. In the long-running series Naruto and its sequel Naruto Shippuden, he voiced several characters, including Bohaha, Misumi Tsurugi, Nejiri, Chōseki, and Ahiko. He also had a role in the Bleach anime as Gitano Shigeo.
His other television anime credits from the 2010s and 2020s include appearances in Sword Art Online, Gintama, Akudama Drive, I'm Standing on 1,000,000 Lives., Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. Beyond anime, he contributed voices to Japanese video game adaptations, such as providing voices for multiple characters including Bil, Chikeeta, Flamekhan, and Grandpa in the Trials of Mana Remake.
