Karin Nanami is a Japanese voice actress and singer affiliated with the talent agency Atomic Monkey. She was born on January 7th in Hokkaido and is a native of Sapporo. Her first name was inspired by Korin, a cat character from the Dragon Ball franchise. As a child, her favorite cartoons were Looney Tunes and The Powerpuff Girls, and her desire to become a voice actor stemmed from an early love of pretending to be fictional characters. Beyond her voice acting career, she holds a license as a small animal nurse and has earned a shodan rank in the martial art of sports chanbara.
Nanami began her professional career in 2014. One of her earliest roles was as Chacha in the multimedia project Nobunaga the Fool. Her first major recognition came in 2017 when she was cast as Yuriko Nishinotōin in the popular anime series Kakegurui. She has since taken on a variety of prominent roles, establishing herself in the industry. In 2021, she was cast as Meiya Mitsurugi in the anime adaptation of Muv-Luv Alternative, a significant role in a major franchise. In 2023, she voiced Claire François in the romantic comedy anime I'm in Love with the Villainess. For this series, she also performed both the opening and ending theme songs alongside her co-star, Yu Serizawa.
