Cohen's entry into voice acting includes significant work in English dubs of Japanese anime. One of his most prominent roles is in the critically acclaimed franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion. He provided the voice for the character Makoto Hyuga in the 2019 redub of the original television series and its accompanying films, which were produced for the global release on Netflix. Another recurring voice role is Francis Pope in the animated series Big Nate, based on the popular comic strip.
Cohen is associated with The Second City, the renowned improvisational and comedy troupe, as a member of their ensemble. His body of work demonstrates a consistent presence in animated productions for both children's television and more adult-oriented anime series.
