Her career began in 2011 when she made her debut providing the voice for a character in the video game Rewrite. This role would become a defining part of her career, as she voices the character Chihaya Ohtori. She has reprised this role multiple times across various adaptations, including the 2012 game Rewrite Harvest festa!, the 2016 television anime series Rewrite, its 2017 second season Rewrite 2nd Season, and the 2021 crossover anime series Kaginado, which is based on works by the visual novel studio Key.

In addition to her notable work in the Rewrite franchise, Shinomiya has built a portfolio of roles in both anime television series and video games. Her other television anime credits include roles in Brothers Conflict as Mahoko Imai in 2013 and in Hakuoki: Dawn of the Shinsengumi as Oume in 2012. Her work in video games is extensive, with early credits including L.G.S: New Theory of Fengshen as Nata and multiple Hakuoki games, all released in 2012. Her career in gaming has continued with more recent participation in titles such as the 2023 games Radiant Tale and 9 R.I.P., for which she provided additional voice work. Known recurring collaborations are not extensively documented, though her sustained involvement with the Rewrite franchise from 2011 through its 2021 appearance in Kaginado highlights a significant, long-term association with that series.
