Alfredo Leal

Alfredo Leal is a Mexican voice actor, writer, and teacher, recognized for his extensive work in anime dubbing for the Latin American market. Born on May 20, 1985, in Mexico City, he began his career in dubbing in 1996 as a means to support his family financially. He is the brother of fellow voice actors Miguel Ángel Leal and Lupita Leal.
Leal's voice can be heard in a wide array of anime series and films. Among his notable roles are Fujita in the dark fantasy series Dorohedoro and the adult version of Luca, the protagonist, in the 2019 CGI film Dragon Quest: Your Story. He also voiced Boomer in Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z and Edison in Nouvelle Fantasia Gulliverboy. One of his earlier roles from the early 1990s is Dickon Sowerby in the anime adaptation Anime Himitsu no Hanazono (The Secret Garden).
Beyond these, his filmography includes many other prominent series. He provided the voice for Tracey Sketchit in the Pokémon anime, Izzy Izumi in Digimon 02, Eriol Hiiragizawa in Sakura Card Captors, Touta Matsuda in Death Note, and Jesse Andersen in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. He has published several books since 2007, spanning novels, short stories, essays, and theater, with his work "La vida escondida" receiving critical recognition. In October 2011, he announced his retirement from dubbing to focus on his writing career but returned to voice acting in 2018. Since his return, he has balanced his time between dubbing, teaching at universities such as UNAM and Ibero Puebla, and literary translation.
