Lutz Schnell is a German actor and voice actor, born in 1960 in Verden an der Aller, Germany. He trained at several acting schools in Hamburg, including the Schauspiel-Studio under Hildburg Freese and the Schauspielschule Hedi Höpfner, before gaining experience in theatre and on-screen roles. His early acting career included a part in the acclaimed 1981 film Das Boot. However, he has since focused primarily on voice acting for film, television, and radio.

Schnell is highly active in dubbing, providing the German voice for a vast array of characters in both live-action and animated productions. He is well-known as the German voice of actor Mads Mikkelsen in many of his films. Other notable regular dubbing roles include voicing Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad and Detective Lionel Fusco in Person of Interest. In animation, he is recognized for voicing Michelangelo in the classic Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles series and providing the German voice of the iconic comic character Tintin in various adaptations.

While his dubbing work covers a broad spectrum, Schnell has also contributed his voice to anime and animated films. He voices the character Yasui, a friendly and experienced police officer, in the German dubbed version of the hit anime film Weathering With You. His other credits in animated features include roles in Back to Gaya and the German versions of Pixar films such as Inside Out and Coco.
