Masachika Ichimura is a Japanese actor and voice actor, born on January 28, 1949, in Saitama Prefecture. His career began in 1973 when he made his professional debut with the Shiki Theatre Company in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. He became one of the company's leading actors, performing in numerous musicals such as West Side Story, Cats, Evita, and The Phantom of the Opera before leaving the company in 1990. His work as a stage actor, particularly in productions like Miss Saigon, has been a central part of his career.

In addition to his stage work, Ichimura has built a substantial body of work in voice acting for anime and animated films. One of his earliest anime roles was providing the voice of Jack in the 1974 film Jack and the Beanstalk. A decade later, he voiced the character Michael in the 1985 film A Journey Through Fairyland. He is perhaps most widely recognized by anime fans for his long-standing role as Mewtwo in the Pokémon franchise. He first voiced the character in the 1998 film Pokémon: The First Movie and reprised the role for the 2019 CG remake, Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution. His portrayal of Mewtwo extended to other media, including the television special Mewtwo Returns and the video game Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Ichimura has also taken on roles in other notable animated projects. He voiced Hippocrates in the 2019 film Birthday Wonderland and Tatsuo Senō in the 2014 historical film Giovanni's Island. His work is not limited to original anime; he has also provided Japanese dubbed voices for characters in foreign films and series, such as Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas and Ebenezer Scrooge in The Man Who Invented Christmas.
