Amane Makino
Description
Amane Makino is a Japanese female voice actor born on November 8th in Tokyo, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm ARTSVISION. Her interest in a performing career began during her first year of high school while she was working as backstage staff for a school play. Inspired by the acting of the upperclassmen, she decided to pursue performance herself. By her third year, she was attending a voice actor training school, balancing her education with her new goal. She is a graduate of the Japan Narration Acting Institute.
Makino's first major break came in 5 when she was cast in a lead role for the multimedia project Re:Stage!, a collaboration between Pony Canyon and Comptiq magazine centered on middle school idol singers. She was selected to voice the protagonist, Shikimiya Mana, one of the six main heroines in the project. Interestingly, Makino initially felt during the audition that she was not suited for the main character role but was encouraged by the staff to take it on, a decision that launched her career as a lead voice actor.
Her voice acting portfolio includes a range of supporting and main roles across television animation, games, and other media. In television anime, her credits include her first leading role as Shikimiya Mana in the 9 television adaptation Re:Stage! Dream Days♪. She also played Hibata Emi in The Sorority of One-Person Small Days and Momo Nishitani in Kandagawa Jet Girls. Other television credits include minor roles in series such as Aikatsu Friends!, Idolish7, A Certain Scientific Accelerator, and Ensemble Stars!. In the world of gaming, she voiced characters such as Gustavus Adolphus and Saigo Takamori in Puzzle of Empires, Tereia in Monster Musume Harem, and in 2024, she provided the voice for the character Koban in the popular game Azur Lane.
Makino's career is most notably defined by her recurring and long-term involvement with the Re:Stage! franchise. Her work as Shikimiya Mana is not limited to the television anime; she has also performed the character in the franchise's mobile game, Re:Stage! Prism Step, and in a series of music CD releases as part of the in-story idol group KiRaRe. Her commitment to the project extended to co-hosting several associated internet radio shows and web programs, including Re:Stage! ~NICO Raw no Renshū~ and Re:STAGE! ch ~Remembers TV~, which helped build and maintain the franchise's community. This sustained involvement with a single, expansive project stands as a significant achievement in her career to date.
