Description
Chang-Yung Hwang is a South Korean voice actor affiliated with the Daewon Broadcasting voice acting division, which he joined in 2014. He has been active as a freelancer in the industry since 2016. Hwang is primarily known for his extensive work dubbing foreign animation and series into Korean, bringing a wide array of characters to local audiences.

His filmography is marked by a significant number of prominent roles in major anime franchises. He is the Korean voice of Takeshi, known as Brock in English, in the 2019 feature film Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. He also voices Professor Sakuragi in the series Pokémon Journeys: The Series. His work in the Pokémon franchise extends to other characters in Journeys, including Satoshi's Kairyu (Ash's Dragonite) and various Pokémon, as well as a return to the role of Takeshi in a later episode of the series.

Beyond Pokémon, Hwang has lent his voice to a diverse range of characters in other popular series. In the Korean dub of Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, he voices Riki (Takeru Takaishi) and Seo Jeong-Woo (Ken Ichijōji). He is also the voice of several characters in Dragon Ball Super, including the God of Destruction Beerus. His role in My Hero Academia includes voicing the fan-favorite character Denki Kaminari, as well as Hanta Sero and Present Mic.

His work is not limited to Japanese anime. Hwang has also voiced major characters in Western animations and films for Korean releases. Notably, he provided the Korean voice for Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He also voices multiple iterations of Dr. Eggman and Big the Cat in the Sonic Prime series. Other credits include the role of Kraken in the animated film Pororo: Treasure Island Adventure and the character Barri in Pinkfong Sing-Along Movie 2: Wonderstar Concert. More recent and upcoming projects include voice roles in the series Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning and the animation Dragon Girl Problem, both slated for 2025.
