Marlies Somers is a Dutch voice actress, singer, and songwriter, born in Gouda on January 16, 1973. She is primarily known for her extensive work in dubbing foreign television series and films into the Dutch language.

Somers' career is marked by a wide range of prominent voice roles in animation and anime. She is perhaps most recognized for providing the Dutch voice of Misty in the long-running Pokémon anime series. Her work as Misty spans numerous projects, including the main television series from 1999 onward, as well as several films such as Pokémon: The First Movie, Pokémon 2000 - The Movie, Pokémon 3 - The Movie, Pokémon 4Ever, and the more recent Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. She also voiced the character in specials like The Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon and Pikachu's Rescue Adventure.

Beyond Pokémon, Somers has voiced other iconic anime characters. She was the Dutch voice of Bunny Tsukino, also known as Sailor Moon, in the Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R series. In the Digimon franchise, she lent her voice to multiple characters, including Kari Kamiya, T.K. Takaishi, Gatomon, and Angewomon in Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02. Her other anime credits include roles in Sonic X, Yu-Gi-Oh! as Rebecca Hawkins, and the role of Naoko in Dino Girl Gauko.

Her voice acting portfolio also includes a vast array of characters in Western animated series dubbed for a Dutch audience. Some of her notable roles include Bubbles and Princess Morbucks in The Powerpuff Girls, Vicky in The Fairly OddParents, Layla in Winx Club, Otto in Rocket Power, Sarah in Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Molly McGee in The Ghost and Molly McGee. She has also worked in live-action dubbing, providing the voice for Po in Teletubbies and Prairie Dawn in Sesame Street.

She has been a finalist in competitions such as the Rob Acda Awards and has won several poetry slams for her poetry, including events in Nijmegen and Zeist. She has also performed theme songs and insert songs for the series she has worked on, such as the Dutch opening theme for Sailor Moon and the song Misty's Vaarwel for a Pokémon episode.
