John Snyder is an American actor with a extensive career in film, television, stage, and voice acting, particularly known for his contributions to English dubs of anime series and films. Born in 1950 in Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated from Boston University's School of Fine and Applied Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1974. His on-screen career began in the late 1970s, with one of his earliest and most recognizable roles being the gas station man in the 1979 film The Warriors. He has also appeared in live-action television series such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Miami Vice, and Babylon 5.
Snyder's voice acting career in anime spans several decades and includes work for major dubbing studios like Animaze, Bang Zoom! Entertainment, and New Generation Pictures. Throughout his career, he has often been credited under various pseudonyms, including Ivan Buckley, Jack Emmet, Ian Alden, Stephen Martello, and Joe DiMucci, among others.
