Jaden Smith is an American actor, rapper, and singer who has extended his career into anime voice acting. His most prominent voice role to date is as the lead character in the Netflix original anime series Neo Yokio. Created by Ezra Koenig, the series is a collaboration with Japanese animation studios Production I.G and Studio Deen. In Neo Yokio, Smith voices Kaz Kaan, a young "magistocrat" tasked with defending a futuristic, satirical version of New York City from demons while navigating high society. Koenig has stated that Smith was his first and only choice for the role, noting that the show would be difficult to imagine without him. Smith also reprised this role for the subsequent television special, Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas.

Following his work on Neo Yokio, Smith took on a broader role in anime production. In October 2025, it was announced that he had signed on to both executive produce and voice a character in the anime film Mfinda. The film, an epic fantasy inspired by Congolese folklore, is in pre-production as a collaboration between studio N LITE and GKIDS, with legendary anime producer Masao Maruyama attached. Smith is set to play the character Kozo, described as an ancient spirit warrior who protects humans and spirits of the forest. This project represents a significant expansion of his involvement in the anime industry, moving from a voice acting role to an executive producer capacity.
