Geneviève Taillade is a French actress and singer primarily known for her extensive work in dubbing, particularly for anime series that aired on French television during the 1980s and 1990s. Her voice became familiar to a generation of viewers through her roles in programs broadcast on popular youth shows.

Before gaining recognition for her voice work, Taillade established a career in theatre. She trained as a stage actress and performed in numerous classical and contemporary plays from the 1960s onwards, with credits including works by Molière, Corneille, and Shakespeare performed at various theatres in Rennes, Paris, and elsewhere. Alongside her acting, she also worked as a singer in cabarets and participated in television talent shows.

Taillade's most iconic and enduring voice role is that of Sylia Chamade, the eldest of the three sisters, in the French dub of the anime series Cat's Eye (titled Signé Cat's Eyes in French). She voiced the character in the original 1980s series, which became a major success. Decades later, she reprised this beloved role for the 2019 animated film City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes, reuniting with the characters from the same creator. In the same film, she is credited as the voice of Sylia Chamade, continuing the character's legacy.

Another significant role from this era was the mother of the protagonist in the anime Georgie, a character noted for its dramatic presence. She also voiced Domini in the animated film Dracula: Sovereign Of The Damned. Her work extended to other genres, including the lead role of Rebecca Cunningham in the Disney animated series Super Baloo and Dr. Robin Doyle in La Légende de Tarzan. In addition to animation, she was active in dubbing live-action series, providing the French voices for characters in Super Sentai shows like Bioman and Maskman, as well as in American series such as Highlander and Baywatch.

While her voice acting work became less frequent after the 2000s, her return to the role of Sylia in 2019 highlighted her lasting connection to a character that defined an era of anime in France. Outside of her performing career, Taillade is the president of an association dedicated to the work of the Fauvist painter André Derain, to whom she is related.
