Guido Cavalleri is an Italian voice actor, television presenter, and author, born Guido Luigi Cavalleri in Bergamo on November 7, 1963. He is best known for providing the Italian voice for the character Ryo Saeba in the anime series City Hunter.
Cavalleri's career in voice acting began alongside his work in children's television. He made his television debut in 1985 on the Rai 3 program L'Orecchiocchio. Throughout the 1990s, he became a familiar face to young Italian audiences as the host of several programs, most notably Ciao Ciao, which aired on Rete 4 and Italia 1 from 1991 to 1996. In these shows, he would introduce cartoons, often performing comic sketches. He also served as the head of the children's programming block for Telemontecarlo and presented the program Zap Zap in the late 1990s.
His most iconic and enduring voice acting role is that of Ryo Saeba, the protagonist of the City Hunter anime franchise. Cavalleri voiced the character in the first two anime series, City Hunter and City Hunter 2, as well as in numerous anime films and specials produced over the years. This long-standing association with the character was reaffirmed when he returned to the role for the 2019 film City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes, which was released in Italian cinemas.
