Eduardo Tejedo
Description
Eduardo Tejedo is a renowned Mexican voice actor and musician with a career spanning over five decades, considered a pioneer and veteran in the Latin American dubbing industry. He was born on October 13, 1951, in Mexico City. His career in voice acting began at a very young age, around seven or eight, when he was discovered by director Ken Smith who recognized his natural talent for rhythm and lip-sync. Tejedo is also a formally trained musician, having graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City as a classical guitarist. This musical background has heavily influenced his career, leading him to compose and adapt theme songs for numerous animated series and work as a musical director in theater.
Tejedo is widely recognized for his voice work in anime, though many of his most iconic roles are specifically tied to his work as a director, adapter, and musical contributor. He directed the first episodes of the immensely popular series Supercampeones (Captain Tsubasa) and is also the creator of its iconic Latin American theme song. He was part of the cast for the Latin American dubbing of Naruto. His contributions to anime also extend to musical adaptation, having written Spanish lyrics for theme songs of series such as Hamtaro, Corrector Yui, and Mirmo Zibang.
In addition to his anime work, his broader career in voice acting includes a vast array of characters. He is known for voicing Benji Price, the beloved dog, in the anime Supercampeones. His other notable roles include Zazú in the The Lion King franchise, Arnim Zola in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and various characters in Power Rangers and Star Wars projects.
Eduardo Tejedo has also worked extensively as a voice director, leading projects such as the series Los hombres de Blanco and Beverly Hills, 90210. In theater, he has participated as an orchestra director, musician, and actor in various stage productions. Beyond his work in entertainment, he is also a musician and composer, being a founder of the rock group La Semilla del Amor and the Latin jazz band Ki Lat, and continues to perform as a guitarist in a blues duo. He is the father of fellow voice actor Ricardo Tejedo.
