Kazuki Kitamura

Description
Kazuki Kitamura is a Japanese actor whose primary career is in film and television, with a very limited number of voice acting roles in anime. His sole confirmed anime voice acting credit to date is the character Usobakka in the 2018 film Pretty Cure Super Stars!. This role marked his debut in voice acting for an animated project. He reportedly approached the opportunity with enthusiasm, even though he initially expected to play a heroic character and was instead cast as the film's antagonist.

Kitamura's career began in the early 1990s, and he gained significant recognition for his live-action performances, often portraying villains, anti-heroes, or characters with a strong, unconventional presence. He is known for his intense preparation and dedication to roles, a trait that carried over to his voice work. His collaborations with prominent film directors, particularly Takashi Miike in his early career, were instrumental in his rise as a noted actor.

Over his decades-long career, Kitamura has received several awards for his acting, including the Newcomer of the Year award from Kinema Junpo and the Best Supporting Actor award at the Yokohama Film Festival in 1999 for his roles in Minazuki, Kyohansha, and Kanzen-naru shiiku. In 2014, he was also honored with the CUT ABOVE Award for Excellence in Film at the JAPAN CUTS film festival in New York. While these accolades are for his live-action work, they underscore his standing as an accomplished performer, bringing that level of experience to his single foray into anime voice acting.
