Maya Nishimura is a Japanese voice actress born on November 16, 1987, in Kyoto Prefecture. She began her career in 2008 after graduating from the Osaka branch of Aoni Juku, a well-known training school for voice actors. Over the course of her career, she has been affiliated with several talent agencies, starting with Aoni Production as a junior voice actress, later working as a freelancer, then joining Amuleto in 2012, and eventually becoming represented by Chara entertainment by 2023. In 2018, she announced on her personal blog that she had changed the spelling of her stage name from the kanji 西村麻弥 to the hiragana にしむら まや, though the pronunciation remained the same.
Nishimura made her debut as a voice actress in 2008 with her role as Kyouka Sawaragi in the anime series Battle Spirits: Shōnen Toppa Bashin. Throughout her career, she has built a diverse portfolio of roles in both anime and video games. One of her notable performances is as Judy Reyes in the series Steins;Gate 0, a role she also voiced in the corresponding visual novel. In Steins;Gate 0, Judy Reyes is a professor at Viktor Chondria University and a colleague of Alexis Leskinen, who is later revealed to be an agent for the organization DURPA. Another significant long-term role is Ao Hoshino in the anime Blue Exorcist, which she played across three seasons.
