Jacob Takanashi is a voice actor based in Tokyo, Japan, and affiliated with the agency Free Wave. He is known for his work in English-language dubs of anime and video games.

One of his earliest notable roles was providing the voice for the title character in the English dub of the anime short Genbanojō. This project was a licensing of the Nippon Animation short by the organizers of the Anime Matsuri convention, which premiered in July 2022. Takanashi himself described this role as his first as an anime protagonist.

Takanashi gained wider recognition in the video game community in 2025 when he was cast as the English voice of the character Kinich in the popular game Genshin Impact. He took over the role from the original actor, John Patneaude. This casting occurred during a period of labor strike by the American union SAG-AFTRA, in which many of the game's other English voice actors were participating. As Takanashi is based in Japan and is not a member of the striking American unions, he was not affected by the work stoppage. The recasting was met with public criticism from some of his new colleagues in the Genshin Impact cast, while also receiving support from others.
