Eric Kelso is an American voice actor, director, presenter, and producer who has been based in Tokyo, Japan, for most of his career. He began his professional journey after graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1986 with a degree in Film Studies, which led him to travel the world and eventually settle in Japan. He has been active in the voiceover industry since 1988.

Kelso is widely recognized for his extensive work in video game voice acting, which he began in 1996. He is particularly well-known for his long-running roles in several major fighting game franchises. He has provided the English voice for Paul Phoenix in the Tekken series, starting with Tekken 4 and continuing through subsequent installments like Tekken 5, Tekken 6, and their updates. He is also the voice of Jacky Bryant in the Virtua Fighter series, appearing in Virtua Fighter 4, Virtua Fighter 5, and crossovers such as the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series and Dead or Alive 5. In addition, he voiced Captain Falcon and Blood Falcon in the game F-Zero GX.

In the realm of anime and animated productions, his roles are diverse. He is credited in the international English dub of the 2015 anime series Air Bound, where he voiced the characters Ace, Owen, and Buck Tooth. His other animation voice work includes characters in the English dub of the Glass Rose video game and the role of Aeolus in Mega Man ZX Advent. Beyond traditional animation, his voice has been featured in numerous other projects, such as providing the English voice for the character Ultra Dark-Killer in the YouTube web series Ultra Galaxy Fight: New Generation Heroes and later voicing Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Great in its sequel, Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy.

Kelso has had a significant and recurring collaboration with the game developer Sega, particularly on the Shenmue series. He voiced multiple characters in the English dub of the original Shenmue, including Masayuki Fukuhara and Guizhang Chen. He returned for Shenmue II, providing the voice for the new character Wuying Ren. This partnership extended to his role as Jacky Bryant in various Sega titles. His work on these projects is noted for being part of some of the most story-driven and dialogue-heavy games of their time.

Beyond character voicing, Kelso has a notable career as a narrator in Japan. He has provided English and Japanese voiceovers for a wide array of media, including television programs, corporate videos, and educational broadcasting. His narration credits include the Japanese movie trailer for Disney's Mulan. He has also been involved in unique projects, such as providing the live interactive voice for a CG microphone character named Mr. Mike at international telecom events in the 1990s and voicing the i-SOBOT, a Guinness World Record-holding robot. He has been a long-time voice on Japanese television and radio, including a years-long role as the voice of Masaharu Morimoto on the cooking show Iron Chef and as a host and cast member for numerous NHK educational programs since 1988.
