Description
Ivete Jaime is a veteran Brazilian voice actress with a career spanning over eight decades in entertainment and more than five decades in dubbing. She was born Yolanda Jayme on April 27, 1930, in São Paulo. Her career began in the performing arts at a very young age; in 1937, she started as a singer on a radio program, and by 1939, she was acting in radio novels. Before entering the world of dubbing, she also appeared in live-action television novels for TV Cultura in the 1960s, such as Escrava do Silêncio and Amor de Perdição.

In 1969, Jaime joined the now-defunct AIC studio in São Paulo, one of the pioneering dubbing studios in Brazil, initially providing additional voices. Due to her vocal characteristics, she was frequently cast to voice young girls and teenage characters, which became a hallmark of her early work in the industry.

Her filmography in anime is extensive and features several prominent roles from the 1960s through the 2010s. She is recognized for voicing the title character Pinóquio in the first dubbing of the 1972 anime series As Aventuras de Pinóquio. Another of her iconic roles is that of the dual-natured Princess Safiri in the classic Osamu Tezuka series Princess Knight (A Princesa e o Cavaleiro) from 1967. In anime films, she voiced Suzana in the 1976 feature O Gato de Botas e a Volta ao Mundo em 80 Dias and the character Mãe de Suzano in the film The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon.

In more recent decades, her anime roles have included Joy in the long-running series Superbook, Irmã Shiaki in Super Doll Licca-chan, and Kay in Cinderella Boy (Efeito Cinderela). She also voiced Christopher in the series Moero Arthur and Goldva in the 2001 version of Shaman King, later returning to the franchise to voice Kino Asakura in the 2021 reboot. Among her later notable roles are Kin in the hit franchise Yo-kai Watch and its film adaptation Yo-kai Watch: The Movie, as well as Mabel in Pokémon XY.

Beyond anime, Ivete Jaime's career is marked by several highly notable achievements in Western animation and live-action dubbing. She was the first voice of the beloved character Cebolinha in the Brazilian franchise Turma da Mônica, a role she performed from 1976 to 1983. She is also well-known as the fourth voice of the character Meany Ranheta in the Woody Woodpecker (Pica-Pau) cartoons. Her versatility is further demonstrated by roles such as Danny Partridge in the series A Família Dó-Ré-Mi and Linda McFly in the first dubbing of the film Back to the Future (De Volta para o Futuro).

Throughout her long career, Jaime frequently collaborated with AIC studios, particularly in the early decades of her work, and later with other major studios such as BKS, S&C, and Megassom. Her enduring presence in Brazilian dubbing is a testament to her adaptability and foundational role in the industry, having voiced characters across multiple generations of animation.
