José Manuel Cortizas was a Spanish sports journalist and voice actor, born in 1963. He began his career in journalism in the early 1990s, working as a columnist for the newspaper El Correo, where he covered a variety of sports including basketball, golf, Formula One, football, and boxing. Parallel to his journalism career, he established himself as a prominent figure in the world of dubbing, providing voices for Spanish-language adaptations of anime series and films.

Cortizas is best known for his long-running role as the voice of Hiroshi Nohara, the father in the European Spanish dub of the immensely popular anime series Crayon Shin-chan. He voiced the character from the show's inception in Spain, becoming the quintessential voice for the role across numerous films and television episodes. His voice work also extended to other projects, such as narrating an audiobook version of Edgar Allan Poe's The Murders in the Rue Morgue.

José Manuel Cortizas passed away on 27 February 2021, at the age of 58, due to complications from COVID-19. His death was widely mourned, particularly by fans in Spain who had grown up with his voice as the beloved father in Crayon Shin-chan. He is remembered for his significant contribution to making the series a cultural touchstone in the country.
