Born on August 7, 1970, in Mexico City, he comes from a family deeply rooted in the performing arts, being the son of actors Andrea Coto and Sergio Barrios, the brother of actor Sergio Gutiérrez Coto, and a descendant of the renowned Soler Brothers dynasty from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. His career began at a very young age, with his first roles in dubbing and theater at eight years old, and he has since accumulated over three decades of experience in the industry.

In the realm of anime, Gutiérrez Coto has lent his voice to a wide array of prominent characters. He is known for voicing Thor in the series Record of Ragnarok and its subsequent installments. He also took on the iconic role of Black Jack in the original video animation (OVA) series of the same name. His other significant anime credits include portraying Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z Kai, the dual roles of Zangetsu and Yhwach in the Bleach franchise, Vicious in Cowboy Bebop, and Hashirama Senju in the Naruto series.
