Tomosa Murata is a Japanese voice actress born on February 5, 1981, in Hokkaido, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agencies Toypritz and ASlink Project. Her career in voice acting began in 2009. Murata's path to the profession was inspired by a childhood fascination with anime and manga characters, which developed after she was introduced to the medium by friends.

Murata's first leading roles, which became her breakout performances, came in 2010 and 2011. She voiced the character Iris Eris in the television anime series The Legend of the Legendary Heroes. She then gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Yuno Gasai in the OVA Mirai Nikki Redial and the subsequent television anime series Mirai Nikki (Future Diary). Her performance as the obsessively devoted Yuno Gasai is her most iconic role.

Murata has an identical twin sister, a fact she has mentioned in interviews and on her blog. A notable piece of trivia about her early career is that for her role as Iris Eris, she drew the character's in-character pictures using her non-dominant left hand.
