Kenji Matsuda is a Japanese actor and voice actor, born on September 23, 1971, in Osaka. His path to performance began in high school when a girl he admired encouraged him to join the theater club. He continued his training with the theatrical troupe Haiyu-Za. After an injury temporarily halted his acting pursuits, his career was reignited when he was scouted by film director Ryuhei Kitamura.

Matsuda is perhaps best known in Japan for his extensive work in tokusatsu, the live-action film and television genre that frequently features special effects. He has played numerous iconic roles, including Zanki in Kamen Rider Hibiki and its successor series Kamen Rider Decade, and Jiro in Kamen Rider Kiva, a role he later reprised in Kamen Rider Zi-O. He also appeared in the Garo franchise as Wataru Shijima and had a role in Shuriken Sentai Ninninger as Raizo Gabi. Internationally, he is recognized for his role as a gangster in Ryuhei Kitamura's cult classic film, Versus.

While his on-screen roles are prominent, Matsuda has also built a career in voice acting for anime and video games. A key anime role is Zebra in the Toriko franchise, including the film Toriko the Movie: Secret Recipe of Gourmet God!. He also played the main antagonist Bohman in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. His video game work includes voicing the hero's father, Baud, in Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii. His work is characterized by a powerful presence suited for intense and muscular characters.
