Alessandro Juliani

Description
Alessandro Juliani is a Canadian actor and singer widely recognized for his extensive work in voice acting, particularly for his portrayal of the character L in the English-language adaptations of the Death Note franchise. Born on July 6, 1975, he is the son of producer, actor, and writer John Juliani and Donna Wong-Juliani. He graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal and Opera Performance, a background that has informed his vocal work throughout his career.

Juliani's career as a voice actor is prolific and spans numerous animated series, films, and anime. He began his voice work early, providing the voice for Pit, also known as Kid Icarus, in the Captain N: The Game Master cartoon series. His anime voice roles are varied and include playing Toma in Ranma ½, Koji in the English version of Ōban Star-Racers, and Burton in Zoids Fuzors. He also voiced the character Gambit in X-Men: Evolution. Beyond anime, his voice can be heard in a wide range of animated productions, such as Nightscream in Beast Machines, Toa Vakama in the Bionicle films, and several characters in the Barbie film series, including Julian in Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper, for which he performed his own singing. His later voice work includes roles in Lego Nexo Knights as Aaron Fox and in Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu as Kapau and Okino.

While his body of voice work is extensive, his most iconic and celebrated role is that of the enigmatic detective L in the Death Note series. He voiced the character in the original Death Note anime series, its compilation films Death Note Relight - Visions of a God and Death Note Relight 2 - L's Successors, and also provided the English dub voice for L in the live-action films Death Note, Death Note 2: The Last Name, and L: Change the World. His performance as L earned him the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation Award for Best Voice Actor (English) in 2008.

In addition to his voice work, Juliani is a highly regarded stage actor, with multiple nominations and wins at Vancouver's Jessie Awards for his theater performances. He is also well known for his on-screen roles, most notably as Lieutenant Felix Gaeta in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series, a role for which he won a Streamy Award for Best Male Actor in a Dramatic Web Series for his work in the related webisode Battlestar Galactica: The Face of the Enemy. He has also had recurring roles in series such as Smallville, The 100, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Throughout his career, he has frequently collaborated with the Vancouver-based voice acting community, working alongside performers like Brian Drummond and Kathleen Barr on numerous projects.
