Thijs van Aken is a Dutch musical actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in dubbing international animation and live-action productions for the Dutch-speaking market. Born in Laren, North Holland, on May 5, 1969, he initially studied Facility Management in Amsterdam before pursuing a career in the performing arts through various acting workshops. His early career was rooted in musical theater, where he performed in productions such as The Little Mermaid, for which he received a nomination for a John Kraaijkamp Musical Award for Best Supporting Actor for his roles as Apollo the Shark and Merlijn the Oyster. His other stage credits include Charly and the Chocolate Factory, Irma La Douce, and Tita Tovenaar.

Van Aken is prominently recognized for his voice work in numerous anime series for Dutch television. He is the Dutch voice of Scyther in the special Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness. His contributions to the Bakugan franchise are particularly notable; he voiced multiple characters, including Shadow Prove and Volt Luster in Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia, as well as Stoica in Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Gundalian Invaders. His work on the Pokémon anime is extensive, encompassing various roles across several series and films. He voiced Trip in Pokémon: Black & White and its sequel Rival Destinies, the Rotom Pokédex in Pokémon Sun & Moon, and Kevin in Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life. He also contributed to Pokémon the Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram, Pokémon the Movie: White - Victini and Zekrom, and Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages.

Beyond these specific credits, van Aken's anime filmography is wide-ranging. He provided the Dutch voice for Axel Blaze and Todd Ironside in Inazuma Eleven, Enjyu in B-Legend! Battle Bedaman, and Syrus Truesdale in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. He also voiced the character Amidamaru in the 2001 version of Shaman King. In addition to anime, his prolific career as a voice actor includes dubbing roles in a vast array of animated series and films, such as Doug in Up, Kevin Levin in the Ben 10 franchise, Rigby in Regular Show, and the title character in Handy Manny.
